Darrah Johnson of Survivor 7 Pearl Islands
was a delight from Episode One. The
petite southern belle regaled us with her
Mississippi charm and twangy accent.
If the Castaways ever join forces to re-make
Gone With The Wind, then Darrah is
our clear choice to play Scarlett O'Hara.
The sort of girl you would imagine might
waltz through the park on a Sunday afternoon
carrying a parasol and wearing a lace
bonnet.
But whatever else you do, don't underestimate
this chick, and don't be fooled by
her sweet demeanor and unimposing
appearance. She can flat-out run,
jump, swim, and handle a bow-&-arrow with
the best of them ~ and astonished us all by
winning three consecutive immunity
challenges late in the game. When the
dust settled, she had lasted a full 37 days
and finished fourth.
Darrah's occupation at the time of S7 raised more than
a few eyebrows. She was an
undertaker-slash-mortician-slash-funeral-director.
Fortunately for those dying to meet
Darrah there may be an easier way.
She's reportedly headed off to dental school
with designs on becoming a hygienist.
Somehow it's comforting to realize that as we men grow
old in this world, there will be always be
pretty hygienists like Darrah to stare at
while we're being fitted for dentures.
And that with a bit of luck, there may be a
pretty 22-year-old like Darrah to
undertake us after we're gone. Can
hardly wait.
