Elisabeth Filarski was for Survivor 2
what Colleen Haskell was to Survivor 1,
the darling girl that every parent wanted
for a daughter, that every single guy
wanted for a girlfriend, that every mother
of a son wanted for a daughter-in-law.
But where Colleen
made use of her wits and charm,
Elisabeth's diminutive stature and sweet
veneer were but window dressing concealing
a strong nerve and competitive drive rare
not just in women, but rare in
anyone. When Michael Skupin burned
his hands and lept into the water seeking
relief, it was Elisabeth who followed him
in hoping to lend aid and comfort.
Our favorite
visual images of Elisabeth on Survivor
2 were those in which she wore her
decorative headdress to tribal
council. Never was she more
beautiful: her soft skin highlighted by
the flickering flames of a campfire, the
decorative plumes of her headdress framing
her lovely face with just the proper
emphasis. Alas there is complete
accord among us: Elisabeth holds a
position of esteem and high honor on the
hierarchy of SurvivorFoxes.
