The most overused phrase in all of Survivor-land may very well be 'flying under the radar'.  Everybody flies under the radar ~~ Colleen Haskell did it in Malaysia, Elisabeth Filarski in the Outback, maybe one or two others to lesser degrees.  But if ever the term 'flying under the radar' properly described a castaway it would have to be Kim Johnson.  For 37 days Kim blended into the woodwork completely; in fact thinking back, we didn't much realize she was even there until about day 25.  She never came within a hundred miles of winning a challenge ~~ that is of course until the final two immunities rolled around.  To the shock of everyone Kim J. nailed down not one, but *both*, and in doing so assured herself of a second place finish in Africa and the $100,000 runner-up prize.

Case in point:  here at SurvivorFoxes.com we never took Kim J. the slightest bit seriously, rather expecting her departure at any time.  Unlike Teresa Cooper she didn't seem to be caught up in the scheming, unlike Lex or Ethan she never posed much of a physical presence and was never seen as a threat.  But threat she was, and the result speaks for itself.  And *that* ladies & gentlemen is what you call 'flying under the radar'.  Classic!

Origin of the name 'Kim':  Derived from Latin origins, the Anglo-Saxon woman's name Kim is a derivation of the suffix 'tine' or 'kim', literally meaning 'short form' or 'short form of -kim'.
