Lillian
Morris of Survivor 7
Pearl Islands was given a second chance
in Panama, and rode it to second place in
Panama ~ a superb result for the middle-aged
housewife from Cincinnati. She called
upon her aerobics skills to balance on a
liferaft for hours, winning S7's final
immunity challenge ~ but was the runner-up
after a near-unanimous jury vote that seemed
to hinge on her scoutmaster background.
When we at SurvivorFoxes.com first
laid eyes on Lill, all gussied up in her
scout uniform & matching flat-brimmed hat,
we fully expected her to provide comic
relief. Boy did we misjudge Lillian.
She actually takes that scouting stuff
seriously, complete with platitudes and
codes of honor. And while yes, she
surely knows how to tie a sturdy knot and
start a fire without a match, the game of
Survivor is a whole lot more involved than
camping
at Yellowstone.
No small portion of the game is mental, and our fondest
memories of Lillian will be those that left
us shaking our heads and wondering whether
she was on the verge of cracking up.
But of course we say that affectionately.
S7 brought several indelible characters into
our living rooms. And scoutmaster Lill
was definitely one of them.
