Ramona Gray is one of a handful of
SurvivorFoxes who came and went in a flash
before we were able to get a good sense of
her ~ recalling her today in anything
resembling specific terms is somewhat like
trying to catch lightning in a bottle,
except that catching lightning in a bottle
is probably easier.
One thing we do
remember about Ramona is that her fellow
castaways actually liked her a good bit,
and made a point of professing their like
for her even while casting their votes to
unceremoniously boot her from the island
back to Edison, New Jersey from which she
hailed. More than anybody else she
had difficulty acclimating herself to the
Borneo environs, so much so that she took
ill for a few days and for her trouble
promptly received an early ticket home.
But Ramona didn't
let her early departure cloud her
perception of her experience on Survivor
1. She returned to her life as a
chemist proud of having been selected in
the first place, and grateful for the
opportunity to have traveled to a distant
land as a castaway on one of television's
most successful shows.
