ALL-STARS ~ On the one hand we
give Shii Ann Huang a hearty nod of respect
at having been the sole S8 representative of
Survivor 5: Thailand, and finishing
in sixth place against the best of the best.
Yet on the other, she again more than lived
up to her 'She-Devil' nickname, annoying
everyone in sight with her smug manner &
constant condescending tone. But
that's just Shii Ann, ladies & gents ~ love
her, loathe her, or something in-between! |

Survivor 5
Thailand's Shii Ann Huang may have been
the single most educated contestant ever to
appear on reality television ~ alas the girl
has more degrees than a thermometer.
Indeed more than once during her island
tenure she showed glimpses of the lofty
intellect that carried her from midterms to
final exams on college campuses near and
far.
And so it was at once ironic and somehow fitting that
Shii Ann's calculating mind betrayed her at
the most critical juncture of her
Survivor experience, causing her to
overplay what may otherwise have been a
sound strategy. Unlike previous
versions, Survivor 5 Thailand didn't
merge the final ten castaways, opting
instead for co-existence even while the two
original tribes remained intact.
Unfortunately for Shii Ann she assumed the
former, and after plotting to shift
allegiances was stung by the reality of the
latter.
