Just as with each version before it, when
the Survivor 5
Thailand castaways were announced we
gazed into our crystal ball, gave it a
coaxing rub ~ and thought we saw firefighter
Stephanie Dill lasting well into the
endgame. Good thing we didn't put any
money on it or we'd have been paying out;
she didn't even reach the merge.
The Arkansas native is an authentic Ozark Mountain
daredevil, a no-nonsense female hardbody who
was probably better matched to the natural
elements than to her fellow tribemates.
Her style was uncompromising, and she didn't
exactly knock herself trying to mesh or find common
purpose. In some ways she reminded us
of Survivor 2 Australia's Alicia
Calaway, albeit without the wagging
forefinger, though had a proper occasion
arisen we rather expect Stephanie would've
wagged and poked till her hand fell off.
Interestingly enough, during the very episode that
ended with her ouster Stephanie passed up an
opportunity to change tribes. Uh, note
to future Survivors: if your
neck's on the chopping block and you're offered a 'Get
Out Of Tribe Free' card, grab it and run! |
